Christmas Markets and Concerts

When the first Advent light is switched on, the season of brightly lit Christmas markets begins again in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. From the Baltic Sea to the Lake District in Hanseatic towns with a maritime flair, in front of romantic Schlössern or in historic barns, the varied markets brighten up the Advent season. The delicious aroma of Christmas baked goods and regional specialties, such as the popular sea buckthorn wine, give the Advent markets a special charm. In combination with festive music and atmospheric light decorations, the numerous Christmas markets in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern are always worth a visit.

• The state capital Schwerin
  Enjoy the traditional Christmas market in Schwerin's old town amidst cozy half-timbered houses and Christmas-decorated shops. It is particularly inviting to do a few laps on the covered ice rink on the banks of the Pfaffenteich. The will also remain festively decorated over the Christmas holidays.
• Baroque town of Ludwigslust
  The Ludwigslust Castle Christmas is something very special. For just a few days, it enchants its visitors. One of the highlights is the castle in a blaze of light. Visitors can also look forward to arts and crafts, all kinds of homemade products and culinary delights from the region.
• Feldstein Barn and Ulrichshusen Castle
  A special Advent market can be experienced on the first three Advent weekends in the old, heated Feldsteinscheune in Ulrichshusen, where a variety of exhibitors, craftspeople and artists invite you to visit. The Schloss Ulrichshusen is also one of the extraordinary hosts of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival Winter. The combination of musical enjoyment and historical castle ambience makes these concerts a unique experience.
• Bollewick barn
  The Bollewick barn in the Lake District invites you to the Mecklenburg Advent markett. On the first two weekends of Advent, the smell of peppers and hand-baked Bollewicker Stolle wafts through the barn. Lovingly decorated stalls from more than 100 artists and craftspeople tempt you to take a leisurely stroll around Mecklenburg's largest fieldstone barn.
