High Shore Trail

The chalk coast of Rügen is certainly a highlight among the sights for many island vacationers. Besides visiting the Königsstuhl as the most famous chalk cliffs, the hike along the high shore from Sassnitz to Lohme with picturesque views of the chalk coast and the Baltic Sea is a unique active experience.

Forest adventure trail Dargun (1,5-3,5 km/ 1 day tour)

On the forest adventure trail Dargun, the little freshman Scrofi accompanies families on the overrun tour (3.5 km) or on the somewhat shorter freshman tour (1.5 km). At 15 stations, they are allowed to give free rein to their urge to discover and explore the forest up close.

Mayor's circular route

Forest adventure trail Ummanz (4 km | 1 day tour)

Stages: 1 day The Rügen island Ummanz offers families on the 1.9 km long forest adventure trail "Des Försters Wald" varied, informative and adventurous offers to learn about nature, especially the forest.

Warnow Breakthrough Valley Round Trip (4 km | 1 day trip)

Stages: 1 day On natural, narrow paths this tour leads through the largest breakthrough valley in the north. The Warnow has dug a bed up to 30 meters deep here. Hikers enjoy the original, wild landscape as much as beavers and kingfishers.

Circular hiking trail Darßer Ort (4 km)

• Length: 4 km

Stages: 1 day On their hike through the enchanted Darß forest up to the lighthouse, families can experience many a natural surprise. With unbridled power, wind and waves formed endless dream beaches. This nearly 4 km long family hiking trail can be ideally combined with a carriage ride or bike tour from Prerow.

Hochuferweg 2.0

For many trekking enthusiasts, the Hochuferweg on Rügen along the chalk coast is a highlight. The views of the vastness of the Baltic Sea and the imposing chalk cliffs are simply unique. People often hike from Sassnitz to the Königsstuhl. However, the second section, from the Königsstuhl to the small harbor town of Lohme, is at least as charming and is still an insider tip with its narrow paths through the beech forests along the shore. The round tour, which is only about 8 kilometers long, can be perfectly combined with a visit to the Königsstuhl National Park Center at the end.

Sietower Wandelweg (9 km / 1 day tour)

Stages: 1 day Follow your desire to get out of the stress and hectic of everyday life. Leave everything behind and find peace and your inner center again. The Sietower Wandelweg zum Wohl-Ergehen is an experience for body, mind and senses. The circular path invites you to relax and meditative discovery between Müritz, wide fields and romantic villages.

South tip Gnitz round trip (5 km / 1 day trip)

Stages: 1 day The Gnitz peninsula in the northern backwater of the Island of Usedom is a true nature reserve paradise away from the Baltic resorts. The round tour leads along the unique coastal strip of the southern tip of Gnitz, to wild steep banks, wooded ridges, open dunes and blooming salt marshes. With a little luck, imposing white-tailed eagles and rare sand martins can be observed.

Accessible circular route through the Schlosskoppel

High bridge hiking trail

Start on the castle island of Mirow, hike over the High Bridge across the Mirower Vorholm and back to the castle island

Alpaca round

This circular tour begins and ends in Strasen, very close to an alpaca farm, where, if you are lucky, you can observe these beautiful animals. Otherwise, the trail leads along a natural path, past meadows and fields and under imposing oak avenues. The tour is not guided and is not accompanied by alpacas - it only leads past an alpaca farm.

Discovery trail Graal-Müritz (7 km | 1 day tour)

The child-friendly discovery trail through the Baltic health spa Graal-Müritz is a nature experience for the whole family. Various display boards and hands-on stations invite you to marvel, play and explore.

Coastal marsh round trip

Separated from the beach only by dunes, the Great Ribnitz Moor offers mysterious excursion paths and scenic beach walks. The primeval alder quarries and pine moor forests are home to the moor frog, the otter and the crane.

Lighthouse trail

Through the rustic Darß forest, up to the lighthouse Darßer Ort, through a unique dune landscape and back along the beach - this hike leads, starting from the idyllic Baltic resort Prerow, to the natural highlights of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst Peninsula.

Quality hiking trail Bodden-Panoramaweg

The award-winning "Wanderbares Deutschland" quality trail leads through a picturesque landscape along the Great Jasmund Bodden on the Island of Rügen. On 24 kilometers between Neuenkirchen and Mukran in the northeast of the island, hikers experience the varied Bodden landscape without major differences in altitude and, with a little luck, encounter sea eagles or otters, which are native to the area, between quiet meadow landscapes and near-natural forests.

Hike in the "Serrahn Beech Forests" World Heritage Site

The "Serrahner Buchenwälder" hike is a varied tour through different forest areas at any time of year and is particularly suitable for families. There are observation points along the way at the moor footbridge, a viewing tower and lots of information.

Audio tour in the Zicker mountains

Locals and guests can also take an audio-guided tour of the Zicker Berge Nature Reserve in the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve.

Fallada's Fridolin Hike

This hiking trail leads hikers through the Feldberg lake landscape. The German writer Hans Fallada and his children were once enchanted by its clear lakes, untouched forests and rich flora and fauna. It was in this mood that the texts of the cheeky badger Fridolin were born.

Path of leisure and knowledge (4 km / 1 day tour)

Stages: 1 day On the path of leisure and knowledge you dive into an enchanting forest on the coast of Rügen, come to rest and deepen the contact with nature and yourself. Imposing trees, ancient burial mounds and fantastic views of the Baltic Sea encourage you to be very mindful of the environment here.

Accessible Thalasso Spa Trail Warnemünde

The accessible Thalasso spa path invites you to take a relaxed walk along the Warnemünde promenade and enjoy the healthy fresh sea air.

Chiffchaff circular trail

Beautiful circular hiking trail through extensive fields and along many lakes. Partly very close to nature with unspoilt surroundings. There are rest and refreshment stops along the route.

Nature experience trail SpurenWeg

• Length: 4 km

Stages: 1 day The 3.5 km SpurenWeg nature discovery trail between Kratzeburg and Dambeck is suitable for blind and visually impaired hikers. Information boards along the way explain in Braille how the interaction of man and nature has shaped this landscape. An accompanying booklet to the SpurenWeg in Braille is available for loan at the National Park Information in Kratzeburg.

Ofenweg Priepert

On a hike through forests and past meadows, there are two stations, former kilns, where you can learn interesting facts about the lime and tar trade in the region.

Grand Duke Georg - Round

Pramort dike path for the mobility impaired

• Length: 16 km

The starting point of the tour is the parking lot Sundische Wiese. On the paved dike it goes 8 kilometers in the direction of Zingst and further to the wheelchair accessible viewing platform Pramort in the National Park of Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft. In spring and autumn, an orchestra of thousands of cranes awaits nature lovers here. On guided tours, experienced rangers accompany guests with limited mobility and activity along the asphalt dike path to the resting places of the elegant birds and reveal a lot of interesting facts.
