Festive Advent Concert with the Barlachbeat Güstrow e.V. Choir
Who among us doesn’t carry them within—those thousand unspoken dreams? As the contemplative Advent season begins and we draw closer together in the warming glow of the candles, these longings awaken in our hearts. Just as every person brings their own unique dreams, so too does every choir member bring a very personal touch to our ensemble.
In our community, which spans the genres of rock, pop, soul, and gospel, every voice is unique. What unites us all, however, is our unbridled joy in music and our genuine passion for singing. The choir hails from Güstrow, the town known for Barlach, and under the direction of Thomas Kampf, presents modern four- to five-part choral pieces as well as moving musical arrangements.
The evening’s program:
The ensemble will present a fine selection of German and international pieces that have become famous through well-known performers and iconic movie moments:
• “A Million Dreams”—from the epic film “The Greatest Showman”
• “Angel” — From the soundtrack “Better Man” (Robbie Williams)
• “Last Christmas” — The Christmas classic by Wham!
• “Winter Wonderland” — Known from the movies of the same name
• “Silent Night” — Inspired by the cinematic masterpiece about the Christmas story
…as well as many other well-known melodies.
