The Sassnitz Community Choir, conducted by Alex Bergstedt, will perform Advent and Christmas carols from around the world.
On December 19 at 2:00 p.m., the Sassnitz Folk Choir will hold its traditional Christmas concert at the Glasbahnhof in the Port of Sassnitz, overlooking the Baltic Sea. The program will focus on Advent and Christmas carols from around the world. Starting with old German tunes such as “Es ist ein Ros entsprungen” and ranging through Italian, Polish, American, and other songs, the journey extends to contemporary composers, including Rolf Zuckowski’s well-known “Weihnachtsbäckerei.”
The concert will be conducted by Alex Bergstedt, who has been the choir director of this traditional Rügen choir since the summer.
