Up-and-coming artists in grades 8 through 11 at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt High School are presenting their creative works on the theme “Free Thinking — Being Myself”
In the special exhibition “Young Talents on Rügen: The EMA Gymnasium Art Olympiad,” up-and-coming artists from grades 8 through 11 at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Gymnasium in Bergen on Rügen showcase their creative talents. The works are predominantly pictorial and were created using colored pencils, graphite pencils, acrylic paints, collage, or mixed media as part of the school’s 2025–2026 Art Olympics under the theme “Free Thinking—Being Myself.” Among the diverse and multifaceted works are a total of fourteen award winners who received recognition at the national, state, and school levels. In addition to the audience award, which reflects the high school community, students were able to hold their own against strong competition with their entries in the challenging 73rd European Competition, which centered on the theme “Your Europe: Justice, Respect—Reality?!”
The EMA High School’s Art Olympiad traditionally takes place every school year. It serves, on the one hand, to promote young creative talent and, at the same time, to highlight art and culture within the school.
