Fresh vegetables straight from the field, a farm stand with seasonal produce, and a cut-flower meadow where you can pick your own: At Himmel & Humus in Nieklitz, you can experience farming up close. Amid the garden beds, there’s space to breathe, explore, and enjoy some time to yourselves.

Amid the garden beds, sunshine, and the scent of the earth, fresh vegetables grow at Himmel & Humus in Nieklitz—vegetables you can discover right there on site. The young team led by Amelie and Sophie launched the market garden in its first year on 1,360 square meters. Since then, the area has been growing step by step. When you step out into the fields, you can feel just how much space there is here for growth—and for your own thoughts.

The farm stand offers seasonal vegetables and a relaxed atmosphere perfect for browsing. If you’d like to take it easy, the café is a great spot to take a break and catch your breath in peace. In the cut-flower meadow, you’re welcome to grab a pair of scissors and pick flowers to take home.

It’s especially special for anyone who likes to get their hands dirty. If you live nearby, you can join in the self-harvesting. The fields are marked to show what’s ready to harvest. Harvest shears and a washing station are provided. This gives you a genuine sense of how vegetables grow and when they taste best.

Himmel & Humus is also a place for community: events are held here, and the community centered around community-supported agriculture (CSA) thrives on the participation of its members. Whether you’re here for a walk, a break, or to pick up groceries for the evening, you’ll experience farming up close and at your own pace. Afterward, the area around Schaalsee invites you to explore further.
