Welcome to the PAHLHUUS, the visitor centre of the UNESCO biosphere reserve „Schaalsee“. We are happy to inform you about touristic offers and show you the most beautiful places in the biosphere reserve. Extraordinary insights into nature and landscape of the region await you in an interactive exhibition.

The “PAHLHUUS” in Zarrentin am Schaalsee is the visitor centre of the UNESCO biosphere reserve “Schaalsee”. This is where you can collect information about the nature of the biosphere reserve and touristic offers, purchase information literature and hiking maps and rent bikes in order to go on a biking tour around the lake.

An astronaut, a tunnel of life, a digital picture book and many more unique insights into the Schaalsee await you in the modern, permanent exhibition. It also contains special offers for little children.

Artists of the region present their work in often changing special exhibitions. Products of the region are offered on the market called “Biosphäre-Schaalsee-Markt” in front of the “PAHLHUUS” every first Sunday of the season. You can go on an excursion with the rangers starting here.
