Time for vacation

With its vast water-rich landscape, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern invites you to enjoy a relaxing hike, especially in spring. The nature park trail takes you along glistening lakes to the picturesque Baltic Sea coast, which inspired Caspar David Friedrich.

Couple sitting in a beach chair on the beach at Graal-Müritz on the Baltic Sea coast. The coastal forest can be seen in the background.
Two cyclists on a wooden footbridge on Krakow Lake surrounded by reeds and lake scenery.

Around 2,000 kilometers of Baltic Sea coastline, just as many sparkling blue lakes and a third of the land area protected by nature. The unmistakable white villas of Baltic architecture, proud Hanseatic brick buildings and, behind every hill, one of 2,000 castles and manor houses waiting to be discovered by you.

The spectacular resting place of the cranes, centuries-old beech forests and the imposing chalk cliffs that inspired Casper David Friedrich. Art and cultural highlights, such as the Störtebek Festival or the Schlösserherbst. Exciting offers for little explorers and accommodation where families feel at home.

Typical local delicacies made from sea buckthorn or fish, which are produced directly on site. Regional breweries and lovingly managed farmhouses and farm cafés invite you to linger. Handicrafts made of ceramics, amber, driftwood or sailcloth, which will keep the best vacation memories alive as souvenirs. All this awaits you in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. What are you waiting for?
