Ashtanga yoga is a form of hatha yoga

Ashtanga yoga (creative) for a relaxed end to the week

Friday: 17:00-18:30 (?)

Ashtanga yoga is a form of hatha yoga and is characterized in particular by its fixed series, which, learned step by step and practiced regularly, should lead more and more to a holistic meditative practice in which the breath and body guide you through the asanas and the mind comes into stillness. In addition to the routine, Ashtanga is also characterized by the interplay between longer periods of time in the individual asanas and dynamic vinyasas as a transition from one posture to another, as well as a fixed count in Sanskrit, which constantly connects the practitioner with the breath and serves as a meditative focus.

The class is based on the first series of Ashtanga Yoga, which is practiced with a focus on stress reduction and parasympathetic activation. The Ashtanga tradition already contains many essential yogic principles that are helpful in dealing with stress and stress prevention: a holistic approach that understands body and mind as a functional unit, the focus on breath control, the flowing alternation between tension and relaxation and the routinized, sustainable practice and thus the establishment of new reaction patterns.

The asanas are practiced and varied traditionally and in possible preliminary forms in such a way that everyone can enjoy Ashtanga and its calming, flowing power. In addition to strengthening and stretching the body, sufficient space is also given to meditation on the path to sattvic balance

Teacher: Anne

Since my first contact with yoga in 2008, when it was mainly about practicing asanas, the practice has become more and more of a mental anchor for me, with a stronger focus on pranayama and meditation. For me, the importance of yoga lies particularly in the philosophy and ethics of everyday interaction with the social and natural environment and oneself, whereby I see the classes on the mat as a place to practice, test and experience oneself in a protected microcosm and would like to experience and shape this place together.

Education: Master's degree in philosophy, cultural studies, English studies (University of Leipzig, graduated 2012), state examination for secondary school teaching in art, philosophy, English, German as a foreign language (University of Greifswald, graduated 2020), Hatha yoga teacher training at "BewusstSein & Leben" in Greifswald (2019-22, 200h), advanced training at BewusstSein & Leben (2022-24, 300h)
