Trio JEAN YANOCHKIN, DARIA FOMINA AND OLES (AMIRAM) VOLINCHIK
UkraYiddish is a project by Jewish musician Oles (Hebrew: Amiram) Volinchik, which presents the audience with unique translations of Ukrainian songs into Yiddish and Yiddish songs into Ukrainian. The concert program is rounded off by imaginatively arranged Yiddish and Hebrew songs and dances played with virtuosity and enthusiasm. The artist will also talk about his trips to Israel and the Ukraine, which he undertook regularly during the war in order to make music with the local people. In the live program, Oles Amiram Volinchik will be supported by top-class musical virtuosos Daria Fomina and Jean Yanochkin.
The authentic program brings together individuals from the most diverse cultures, languages, ethnicities and religions. The concert offers an extraordinary opportunity to get to know new, exciting and unknown dimensions of Jewish culture. It is interactive and offers space to sing and dance along. Ukrainian and Jewish cultures have always been inextricably intertwined in Ukraine and are characterized by mutual influence. The outstanding, multifaceted and unique Jewish culture is an essential and valuable part of Ukraine's cultural heritage.
UkraYiddish - УкраЇдиш - אוקראיידיש invites listeners on an exciting and varied journey to places where you can feel the pulse of the world. The incomparable project has been received with enthusiasm worldwide. There have been press reports in the USA, Ukraine, Israel and Germany.
The majority of the songs are in Yiddish. There are also some songs in Hebrew and Ukrainian. There are also some instrumental pieces. We will discuss the technical requirements directly with the musicians later.
