Traditional culinary art meets modern ideas, enriched by the art of different styles.
The Beckhaus family founded an iron foundry and machine factory at our site at Hamburger Str. 37/40 in Boizenburg in 1853. As far as we know, the business existed until the 1920s. A lot has happened since then. During the GDR era, various trades of the Boizenburg Elbewerft worked on the site. I, the operator of the bistro and art dealership Herrschaftszeiten, acquired the property as a commercial yard in 2018. Letting and preserving it was initially the only objective. But then there was this idea. Conceived by my wife and I and relegated to mothballs for a long time. Our dream was to create a meeting place for art in Boizenburg. Because we know from our own experience that looking at and engaging with works of art goes through the stomach, we also needed a gastronomic addition. We got to work in winter 2019/2020. Plagued by complications, hundreds of regulations but with the support of great craftsmen, we are now looking forward to bringing our bistro & art shop "Herrschaftszeiten" to life. You are invited to join us on this journey. We would be delighted if you spend some pleasant hours with us. In the summer of 2021, more than three years have passed in which we have received much appreciation and encouragement. The restaurant has developed into a place of conviviality and enjoyment.
