    • Wiligrader Straße, 19069 Lübstorf

The former ducal residence palace with the surrounding palace park and the historic estate ensemble is one of the most beautiful places on Lake Schwerin. The art exhibition in the castle is particularly worth seeing. With its location on a steep bank directly on the lake, it is considered an insider's tip for excursions, especially in autumn and in spring during the rhododron bloom. The old nursery houses a farm store and a popular farm café.

The former inner-German border strip, the "Green Belt", is virtually predestined to be further enhanced by the creation of new forest areas. So it was only logical to add another climate forest to the existing ones in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern from summer 2010. The first planting campaign took place in April 2011. The total area consists of three parcels of land, two of which were reforested as part of the planting campaign with the Schwerin energy supplier WEMAG.

The event was organized by the Schwerin-based energy supplier WEMAG together with the state forestry department and the MV tourism association. Over a thousand English oaks and typical forest edge trees such as wild fruit trees and shrubs marked the start of the development of this site, which has now unmistakably found its rightful place in the series of climate forests in MV.
