Churches in the Region—Discover small village churches or large, restored buildings from the era of the Knights of St. John. You can feel the immense aura of these ancient buildings, and for a moment, time seems to stand still.
In 1764/1765, the brick church was built in the Neoclassical style; the first and older church had burned down completely. The similarity among the three churches in Diemitz, Schwarz, and Lärz stems from the fact that these three farming villages were all under the patronage of the Dobbertin Monastery. The altar in the Diemitz church, which is still preserved today, is integrated with the Rococo-style pulpit to form a single unit. Beautiful ceiling paintings and a wooden baptismal angel adorn the church.
The tower has two bells dating from the period after World War I. The old bells were melted down. The church is open to visitors from May through October. It is located directly on the pilgrimage route.
