Free Comic Book Day in libraries and bookshops
Free Comic Book Day in libraries and bookshops.
On Saturday, the Uwe-Johnson Library and the Welt im Buch bookshop will be hosting their almost traditional Free Comic Book Day. Children and collectors can look forward to numerous free comics, which will be distributed on this day. The two "reading stations" deliberately divide up the free comics: Some booklets are available exclusively in the bookshop, others only in the library. So it's worth visiting both places, browsing, browsing and discovering new reading material. In addition, a colourful supporting programme awaits in the library: the VR station invites young and old to try it out and everyone who dares to come to the library in a comic costume can have a personalized give-away laser-cut. So get your make-up on, put on the outfits of the speech bubble heroes and see who else turns up as a comic character. 22 different comics will be handed out free of charge to children and young people aged 6 to 14 - with the aim of promoting the joy of reading and strengthening reading skills and language comprehension at the same time. After all, the speech bubble has often become an introduction to the world of reading for one or the other.
