Experience NATURE at IGA Park Rostock
In July, the garden welcomes us with a diverse array of blooms. The delicate flowers give off a wonderful fragrance. The summer weather is particularly favorable for Mediterranean herbs, allowing them to develop their distinctive aroma.
One example is basil, with its many varieties. Whether it’s Thai, cinnamon, lemon, or bush basil, there’s something to suit every taste. There are also various types of sage, thyme, mint, and sweet nettle, each with its own distinct aroma. Not only are they used fresh in the kitchen, but they should also be preserved now for the winter. Drying, freezing, herb vinegar, herb oil, herb salt, pesto, and oxymel are just a few options. But which method is best suited for which herb?
To answer these and other questions, anyone interested is cordially invited to join us on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Mecklenburger Hallenhaus in IGA Park. Our herb expert, Annelore Sedat, will once again have an incredible array of preservation methods up her sleeve and will demonstrate them. Of course, you’re welcome to ask questions.
The event will take place in the upper seminar room of the Mecklenburger Hallenhaus and can be accessed via the North Entrance, coming from Groß Klein. It will end around 5:30 p.m. The participation fee is €5 per person, payable on site.
