In Susan Kratzius’s studio on Lange Straße in Barth, crocheted bags, jewelry, and decorative items are crafted by hand. You can watch her at work, sit down with a book, or take a workshop to try your hand at macramé, beading, and crocheting bags.
Susan Kratzius works in her studio at Lange Straße 45 in Barth, where she sells the items she makes herself. The shop features crocheted bags, jewelry, and decorative items. Everything is made by hand, often right where you’ll be standing later.
The studio has an open layout. Susan Kratzius sits on the couch crocheting, and you’re welcome to watch her. If you’d like to read in peace, work on your laptop, or work on your own project, you pay 10 euros into the “seat fund” and get Wi-Fi and a drink. A knitting circle with friends is also welcome—just let us know in advance.
If you’d like to make something yourself, book a workshop. Options include macramé, beaded jewelry, plaster decorations, and crocheting your own bag. Prices range from 29 to 89 euros; tools, materials, and a drink are included. A workshop takes place with a minimum of five registrations and has a maximum of ten spots. Artist Sabrina Dawidowski from Born demonstrates the Sorbian embossing technique on her own scheduled dates. If you don’t feel comfortable in groups, book a “Safe Space” workshop alone or with a companion. You can request a private date for a bachelorette party, birthday, or girls’ afternoon.
For personal projects, Susan Kratzius carries yarns, cords, crochet hooks, and knitting needles, as well as crochet bases from Bobbiny and WoodyCrafts. Local artists can rent shelves in the studio to sell their work there commission-free.
You can register for workshops using the contact form on the website or via WhatsApp.
