Discover the Mecklenburg Lake District on a run Every run here is a little voyage of discovery - past lakes, through picturesque villages and into the tranquillity of nature. Whether you prefer to take it easy or are looking for a longer sporting challenge: Choose between a 5 km or a 12 km circular route. Both routes start directly at the market square, are clearly signposted and bring you back to the starting point after a varied run.
5 km circuit - the red one
Follow the red directional arrows and let yourself be guided through the charming streets of the village. From the market square, you first head towards Unterhörn, then along the harbor, where the view opens up over the water and boats sway gently in the wind. With fresh sea air in your nose, you run back into the heart of the town - ideal for an active start to the day or a short training session in between.
12 km circuit - the blue one
If you are looking for more distance and variety, follow the blue directional arrows. From the market square, the route leads out to Wendhof, past open fields and into a quiet section of forest. Here, the trail runs alongside the historic castle ramparts - a touch of history in the midst of unspoiled nature. The route finally returns to the town center via shady paths and expansive views. A route for anyone who wants to combine endurance with scenic diversity.
No matter what you choose: Every run is a piece of vacation feeling at every turn.
