On the edge of the Bodden landscape near Garz lies the historic Rosengarten estate—a place to relax, explore, and connect with others.
The Rosengarten estate near Garz is located on the edge of the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve—and has a history that takes some time to sink in: The Hertha Spring was discovered here as early as 1903, and its mineral-rich water has been flowing from the ground ever since. In the vacation apartments, which are housed in the former buildings of the historic bottling plant, this spring water flows directly from the tap.
The estate is supported by the nonprofit Gut Rosengarten Foundation, which is dedicated to preserving the historic, protected property. The result is not a museum, but a vibrant place: the expansive landscape park invites visitors to take walks in a historic setting. The farm store offers products grown on the estate. The vegan café provides culinary inspiration. Regional variety is cultivated in the organic garden and the Rügen tree nursery.
The estate is open to vacationers, cultural events, seminars, and nature experiences. Visitors need not plan anything—the place sets the pace.
