The DOCK INN is Germany's first hostel made of upcycled overseas containers and makes active vacationers, design fans and families equally happy.
Since April 2017, Warnemünde has been offering a unique experience. Against the backdrop of the harbor, shipyard and big boats, just a stone's throw away from the town center, the river and the beach, stands the first hostel made of upcycled, free-standing overseas containers that look back on a fulfilled life on the world's oceans. The DOCK INN makes active vacationers, design fans, families and backpackers alike happy. An accommodation that has everything important on board and always remains beautifully casual. And it even won the prestigious "German Tourism Award" in November 2017.
The DOCK INN offers 64 rooms with a total of 188 beds in four different container types: Spacious double rooms and practical four-bed rooms were created from 25-square-meter high cube sea containers. Two containers welded together create spacious harbor suites or affordable eight-bed dorms. The multi-bed rooms offer space for larger groups and are therefore perfect for friends traveling together, families with children, youth trips and school trips or surfers who still want to talk shop about the perfect wave in the evening.
The lobby invites with restaurant and bar to drink and chill, the "galley" to cook together. The "Fritz-Vinylbar" with the best records of North German bands, foosball table, Nintendo DS or the collection of well-tried board games provide variety. For a sauna, head high above the roofs of the shipyard: with a magnificent panoramic view and at eye level with the captains of the passing cruise ships, you can relax in the harbor sauna on the fifth floor. Rental bicycles are available for excursions in the surrounding area. Those who want to work out in bad weather can visit the "rock heroes" in the adjacent building: While sailors used to climb into the shrouds, both first-time climbers and experienced free climbers can complete varied routes here in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's first bouldering hall, which covers 540 square meters.
