The village church Lichtenhagen is the church of the Lutheran parish Lichtenhagen in Elmenhorst/Lichtenhagen in the district of Rostock.
The Lichtenhagen church was first mentioned in 1319. The church, built of mostly unhewn boulders, dates from the transition from the Romanesque to the Gothic period and was created at different times through several reconstructions. The rectangular choir with a straight chancel end from the 13th century is the oldest part of the church. Here you can find vault paintings from the 14th century. The three-nave nave was built later. The 42-meter-high west tower bears a roof in the shape of a "bishop's miter". A fundamental renovation took place in 1892 according to designs by Gotthilf Ludwig Möckel, during which stained glass windows were also installed. Since 1998, the church has been fundamentally renovated in several sections with the support of a sponsoring association.
