From here you have a wonderful view of the Barther Oie and can watch the cranes fly in to their nightly roosts.
The viewpoint near Bresewitz is an insider tip among ornithologists. From the birdwatching hill, you have a direct view of the Barther Oie.
The crane village of Bresewitz is located on the edge of the National Park of Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft. Behind the village on a peninsula - 2 km away - there is an observation platform. From here you have a direct view of the rich bird life in the national park and the island of Barther Oie.
In spring, thousands of resting white-fronted geese can be observed here, the song of the skylark can be heard on the way to the viewing point and in the fall, the cranes can be observed undisturbed on their roost on Barther Oie in the morning and evening hours.
At the end of the village road "Zur Oie" in Bresewitz there is an information board from NABU Nordvorpommern with information on the renaturation of the area. Then continue along the paved path to the easternmost point of Bresewitz. The no passing sign does not apply to pedestrians and cyclists. At the end of the path there is a viewing platform with an information board. The view from here is the best and ideal for birdwatching.
