In 1999, the Barther Boddenbühne, one of the venues of the Vorpommersche Landesbühne Anklam, was created from the former culture house of the sugar factory.
As the only permanent theater in the region, locals and tourists enjoy what the stage has to offer. The current plays of the regional stage are shown, concerts, guest performances complement the offer. Two are home to amateur theater groups - "Barther Jugendensemble" and "Barther Amateurensemble" - which are regularly represented in the repertoire with their productions.
In summer the stage moves outside - to the Barther Theater Garten and here you can then experience the adventures of this world, e.g. the Musketeers, Don Quixote and Captain Flint from Treasure Island.
