The natural beach Glöwitzer Bucht in Barth is located in the immediate vicinity of the Erlebnisreiterhof der Bernsteinreiter and is popular with families with children due to its very slow rise in water depth and milder water temperatures. From the city the bathing place is easily accessible by bike in a few minutes, but there are also sufficient free parking facilities. For active recreation on the small beach, the beach volleyball court is inviting and on the calm water, stand-up paddling is a great way to enjoy the peace and nature from a different perspective, even for beginners.

Based on the BadegewLVO M-V, the bathing water Barther Bodden, Barth Glöwitzer Bucht was classified as not suitable for bathing for the 2022 season.

Nevertheless, sampling by the State Office for Health and Social Affairs, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Department of Health Environmental Hygiene, Environmental Medicine on 16.05.2022 resulted in an interpretation by the responsible laboratory that the bathing water is suitable for bathing, the measure values are complied with and the bathing water has a low visibility depth.
