A family vacation in the countryside in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania not only impresses with its natural recreation, but above all offers plenty of space for exciting discoveries on the numerous adventure farms.  Apples straight from the tree, potatoes fresh from the field, eggs from the farm and milk from the barn – in a relaxed atmosphere, farmers explain to curious children how a cow is milked, a sheep is shorn or the beets come out of the ground.Traditional crafts can be marveled at in lively open-air museums and huge art barns. Here, people still potter, felt, knit and bake just like in grandma's day.

At our adventure farms, the focus is on fun and games. Ride the Kettcars across the terrain, climb high in the climbing garden or make the hayloft in the barn unsafe, whether pony riding or alpaca hiking – boredom is not an option here. The animals on the farm, whether chickens, sheep or donkeys, look forward to visitors and love to be fed and stroked. The farmer will take you through the barn and if you like, you can try your hand at milking a cow or giving the calf a bottle. Especially during the vacations, there is a varied program for all ages.And while the children are exploring the farm, the adults can enjoy a little break with coffee and cake in the farm café.

Today, one farmer feeds around 140 people. In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania - as in the other new federal states - the agricultural structure is dominated by large, modern farming operations as a result of land reform. Some of these farms give visitors the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes.

During a tour of a dairy farm, you can find out what the cows eat, the advantages of modern barn construction and why milking is so important. At the end, there is always a little detour to the cute little cows.nbsp;Harvest enthusiasts can lend a hand themselves and bring their own crops to light.
