phanTECHNIKUM Wismar - Fantastic ideas from technology and nature. phanTECHNIKUM, the technology experience center in the Hanseatic City of Wismar, opened its doors in 2012. Exciting objects, models and experiment stations to touch and participate in await discovery.

Did you know that Mecklenburg-Vorpommern can point to an extraordinary steam power pioneer? Ernst Alban, a native of Neubrandenburg, was one of the first in the world to develop and build high-pressure steam engines in the mid-19th century. Or did you know that the Fokker DR I, the famous fighter plane from World War I, was manufactured in the State capital Schwerin? At phanTECHNIKUM, you can see a 1:1 model of the triplane. At numerous experiment stations, such as the giant soap bubble, the propeller carousel or the flow channel, technology for young and old is presented in a clear, understandable and interactive way.
