1. Schlösserherbst in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

Every year, castles, manor houses and manor houses invite you to Schlösserherbst nach Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. When the autumn sun shines a golden light on the venerable gardens, those interested in culture can enjoy exciting castle and park tours, top-class concerts, fascinating exhibitions, concerts and a wide range of events;concerts, fascinating exhibitions, romantic readings and numerous culinary events from the Mecklenburg Lake District to the Western Pomerania mainland and the Mecklenburg Baltic coast.

2. puppet shows

Listen to the tales of dachshund Waldi von Hohenhund on a tour of Granitz Hunting Lodge on Rügen, learn stories about Count Bothmer and his castle from Zausel the mouse from Klütz at Bothmer Castle;about Count Bothmer, his castle and the power of knowledge and experience with the puppet theater „Ernst Heiter“ on a guided tour through Hohenzieritz Castle how the maiden Husch became the Prussian Queen Luise. 

Puppet and palace lovers of all ages can experience the MV State Palaces, Gardens and Art Collections with artistic puppet shows and puppet theater with lots of humor, a twinkle in the eye and music.

3. through the night with art and culture

When the nights get longer, selected palaces, museums, galleries and other cultural institutions invite you to the art and culture nights.

At the Ludwigsluster KUKUNA, idyllic courtyards and historic houses become a stage. Ludwigslust Palace invites you to a guided tour of the palace clock to mark the occasion.

The town of Klütz opens its gates and doors in October for the Klützer KulTOURnacht when night falls. Whether music, painting, literature, fascinating light installations, relaxation, goldsmithing or puppet shows.

„Pay nothing once – experience a lot“ applies to the Schweriner Lichtbummel. Light experiences and atmospheric lighting invite you to discover the city.

4th Day of the Open Monument

free of charge to all castles and monuments

Open Monument Day is always held on the 2nd Sunday in September.

On this day, many of the otherwise inaccessible monuments are open and can be visited as part of guided tours and exhibitions. Be sure to make a note of this date!

    St. Bartholomew Church Wittenburg

    The three-nave, three-bay hall church made of brick rises into the sky on the north side of Wittenburg's market square. It is a work of the North German brick Gothic style, but also bears Romanesque elements on its facades. The church is Protestant.

    Half-timbered house with two vacation apartments in the Wittstocker Heide, conveniently located from Berlin and Hamburg. The baroque manor house was built around 1700 in half-timbered construction and restored from 2013 denkmalgrechet.

    The "Schabbell", one of the earliest Renaissance buildings in the Baltic region, the neighboring building at Schweinsbrücke 6 and the associated courtyards were reopened in December 2017 after extensive and careful renovation and now serve as exhibition and event space for the Stadtgeschichtliches Museum Wismar.

    The small church, whose fieldstone choir probably dates back to the late 12th century, is idyllically located on the outskirts of Neuenkirchen.

    The town was founded in the 13th century as the northernmost border town of Mecklenburg. The first written record dates back to 1257. Under Mecklenburg rule, the small town was the seat of a domanial office and thus had a hinterland function, also for the Darguner and Neukalen area. The trade route "Via regia" led through the town and had a favorable effect on the development of trade and crafts.

5. contemplative Christmas time with castle romance

The Ludwigslust Castle Christmas in a baroque ambience is something very special. Let yourself be enchanted every year on the third weekend of Advent. One of the highlights is the castle in a blaze of light, and you can also look forward to arts and crafts, all kinds of homemade products and culinary delights from the region.

At the Christmas market in the castle wall in Plau am See, you can marvel at great craftsmanship, music, lots of hands-on activities for young and old and theater of a very special kind.

The Festival Winter of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival unfolds with its Advent and Christmas concerts for musical enjoyment in a historic castle setting.
