RANDO GESCHEWSKI "Myth"
RANDO GESCHEWSKI was born in Berlin in 1963 - he lives and works in Rostock/Warnemünde. The special thing about his art lies in the way he works. His pictures deal with today, even if they sometimes look like they are from the day before yesterday, freezing history and liquefying it again, because the works are created in an open process of application and removal. The artist uses semi-transparent architectural foils that have a haptically interesting, rough surface, which is first marked with ink, pen or brush and then with ink pens. Sometimes oil paint is also used. Then certain parts of the picture are scraped off again using a razor blade. Similar to the sgraffito technique (Italian for "scratch"). This is an artistic decoration technique in which an upper layer of paint is scraped away to reveal a different colored undercoat. Repeated glazed overpainting and hatching compress the whole. This is how RANDO GESCHEWSKI's unmistakable works are created. Let yourself be enchanted by the new cycle of his works that has just been created following the recent renovation of his studio in Warnemünde.
