Guided tour of Doberan Minster with optional subsequent guided tour of the monastery and the town of Bad Doberan
This tour starts at 11 a.m. at the cathedral before the regular city tour and takes you first into the interior of Doberan Cathedral.
Artful statues and sublime sarcophagi of famous rulers and rulers, neat family crypts of famous noblemen and a magnificent loggia of a duke testify to the importance and wealth of the former Cistercian monastery.
The rich original furnishings testify to the craftsmanship of the monks and the view upwards to their architecture. Let yourself be enchanted by a real pearl of North German brick Gothic and learn about the life and work of the Cistercian monks.
Afterwards, at 12 noon, the same tour guide will take you through the monastery grounds with its original brick buildings, such as the granary and the bakehouse mill.
You will walk through the monastery wall from red Doberan to white Doberan with its stately neoclassical buildings, from the lodging house to the salon and the Grand Ducal Palace to the pavilions on the Kamp and the historic buildings all around and the steam locomotive "Molli" right in the middle. This is the only way to really get to know Bad Doberan.
