Wars, shifts in geopolitical power, and growing competition between democratic and authoritarian systems are fundamentally altering the international order. Europe faces the challenge of redefining its role in an increasingly uncertain world—balancing its capacity for action in security policy, its economic interests, and its commitment to defending democratic values. What are the consequences of these developments for the Baltic Sea region and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern? How do global conflicts influence migration and social cohesion? And what prospects are opening up for the state following the state parliamentary election? The symposium “New World Order(s)? Global Conflicts and Europe’s Changing Role” brings together experts from academia and the professional world, as well as interested members of the public, to contextualize current developments and discuss Europe’s future in a changing world.
