Tube death & tape salad and other catastrophes from the everyday life of an S.p.U.
Record entertainers (S.p.U. for short), as the disc jockeys were officially called in the former GDR, had to be good at organizing and improvising. Their creativity was also required when filling out the AWA track lists. They lied through their teeth. The state-imposed ratio of 60:40 (East music:West music) was at best implemented in the examination disco for the license classification. Because the East audience also preferred to dance to Western music. The author himself worked as an "S.p.U." from 1974 and takes the reader on a journey through time in his autobiographical book about everyday life on and behind the disco stage.
