"The Gruffalo" as a puppet show in the theater tent on Grüner Weg: Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 11 a.m., through August 26.
A little mouse walks through the dark forest and invents a monster to keep the fox, the owl, and the snake at bay—until the Gruffalo suddenly appears right in front of her. The Giessen Puppet Theater brings the story to life on stage with hand-operated puppets, staying true to the original and with great attention to detail.
Performances take place in the theater’s own tent on Grüner Weg, right next to the bounce house park. This summer, the theater is making its debut in Kühlungsborn. The show lasts about 45 minutes and takes place in the tent, so it’s not affected by the weather.
Performances begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The box office opens 30 minutes beforehand right at the tent; seating is first-come, first-served. Groups of 10 or more can reserve specific seats.
The family-run company has been performing since 1970 and tours the Baltic Sea coast with its tent every summer.
