Song recital
To kick off the year, we are looking forward to two well-rehearsed artists who are at home on stages all over the world: Nadja Kristi and David R. Coleman. With quiet intensity, great warmth and impressive expressiveness, they will perform songs from the late 19th and early 20th centuries - an era in which Romanticism once again found new splendor. Together with us, they celebrate late Romanticism and bring it to life.
This song recital marks the end of a year dedicated to the memory of Romanticism, brings us back to the here and now and looks forward to what lies ahead. We all carry within us a longing for new beginnings, radiance and inner renewal - so typical of Romanticism.
Nadja and David invite us to experience this New Year's concert as a musical prelude: confident, sensitive and full of anticipation for the new year.
This concert is also an outlook: In March, Nadja and David will perform at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. We are delighted to pave the way for them on the big stage with this evening and to give you and ourselves courage, energy and inspiration for the new year.
Nadja Kristi studied opera singing at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin. She was a member of the Berlin State Opera and sang as a soloist at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. As a concert singer, she has performed with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, the Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra, in the Berlin Konzerthaus and at the Philharmonie in Szczecin.
David Robert Coleman is a composer and conductor and has worked as such at the Berlin State Opera. As a guest conductor he works with orchestras such as the RSB Sinfonieorchester Berlin, HR-Sinfonieorchester and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra.
