Great caution is required here, as many mushroom species look confusingly similar. If you are not sure, it is better to stay away from unknown mushrooms and seek advice from experts. This is the only way to avoid the risk of mushroom poisoning and to enjoy the mushrooms to the full.
Mushroom enthusiasts who would like to know more about mushrooms, where they grow or what they mean for humans are invited to a mushroom excursion in the Mecklenburg Schweiz and Lake Kummerow Nature Park. The meeting point is on Saturday, October 10 at 1 p.m. at the nature park administration in Großen Luckow. Together with like-minded people, you will go on an exciting discovery tour through the forests of the nature park under expert guidance. You will also receive valuable tips on the correct identification and careful handling of the mushrooms you find.
Mushroom expert Manfred Böttcher from Stavenhagen will accompany you on a mushroom hunt to collect mushrooms that are otherwise rarely or never found in baskets. Hardly anyone else knows how to inspire his audience so well with his expert knowledge of mushrooms. During the excursion, he takes time to answer all questions, clearly explains the most important characteristics of the mushrooms he collects and warns of dangerous doppelgangers. After the joint search, the finds are carefully sorted and identified so that each participant can deepen their knowledge. A short talk about mushrooms rounds off the afternoon. If the finds are too few or if the weather is bad, Mr. Böttcher will show a slide show about mushrooms.
