Kabuß lives with his family in Altkalen, Mecklenburg.

Kabuß' concern is to translate active perception, felt with all the senses, the whole body, the integration into the experience and its stories as originally as possible into imagery. The linking of intuition to the gestures of painting, the expressive movement of the hand, the emphasis on the means, leads to new forms of pictorial intensity and closeness to life.

The basis of the Altkalen artist's supra-regional fame and international recognition is his roots in his rural surroundings, the panoramas, country houses, city gardens and colorations that they receive through their special people - a large world is documented in a small show.

His preoccupation with the connection between imagery and music has allowed the painter to mature into a pianist. As part of the vernissage, a "Musique d'ameublement" by the artist's own hand will be played: sophisticated, free, touching piano music opens the heart to a land of images.
