South Tyrolean musical artistry with passion The story of Die Spatzen began in the early 1980s with founding members Karl Schieder, Walter Mauroner, and Valentin Silbernagl. They were soon joined by Oswald Sattler, Ferdinand Rier, and, a little later, the current frontman Norbert Rier. With their first major hit, “The Girl with the Extinguished Eyes,” they laid the foundation for a career that continues to this day.
Despite some lineup changes over the years, one thing has always remained the same: the musical passion and the unmistakable sound that make the Kastelruther Spatzen so unique.
