Hike on nature and landscape history around Hinzenhagen with geographer Anja Gebbers, certified nature and landscape guide
The great melting of the glaciers of the last ice age began around 12,000 years ago. This event left behind a particularly varied and eventful landscape in the region around Hinzenhagen. The ice reached as far as the vicinity of Hinzenhagen and piled up impressive moraines to the south. As the glaciers expanded, they transported numerous pieces of rock - known as boulders - here from Scandinavia. These stones, known today as boulders or erratic blocks, still characterize the landscape today.
Geographer Anja Gebbers, a certified nature and landscape guide, invites you on a guided hike through this area. During the tour, she will share exciting and interesting facts about the Ice Age and the development of the landscape around Hinzenhagen.
The meeting point is on Saturday, September 12 at 1 p.m. at the bus loop in Hinzenhagen (near Kuchelmiß). It is recommended that you wear sturdy shoes. The event will be canceled in the event of very bad weather or storms.
