The special exhibition “Shadows on the Moon” presents the work of Ukrainian graphic artist Konstantin Kalynovych (b. 1959), one of the most prominent figures in contemporary European printmaking and bookplate art. The artist lives and works in Kyiv. His works have been honored with numerous international awards and are held in public and private collections in many countries. At the heart of his work are memory, time, and the fragile boundary between dream and reality. The delicate lines of his etchings, the multi-layered symbolism, and his deliberate dialogue with the Old Masters create a unique visual space that is deeply rooted in tradition yet simultaneously contemporary. The exhibition features etchings, bookplates, gouaches, watercolors, and mixed-media works. It brings together pieces from various years, offering insight into Konstantin Kalynovych’s multifaceted visual world. The works come from the collection of the exhibition’s curator, Roman Demidov.
