Problems and pitfalls of weight loss and how to do it right.
At the beginning of the year, many people want to do something for their health and lose weight. At the same time, the Christian fasting period has begun. However, it is now known that "zero fasting" is usually only successful in terms of weight loss in the short term, but not in the medium or long term. Nevertheless, fasting can be medically useful to stimulate so-called autophagy, in which damaged cell components are broken down and recycled, which strengthens the immune system, slows down the ageing process and can reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as Alzheimer's and cardiovascular problems. However, similar positive health effects can also be achieved through "sham fasting" and "fasting mimetics". Liver and bowel cures could also achieve positive effects if carried out correctly. And last but not least, there are more and more studies on the medically proven positive effects of so-called "weight loss injections". Despite their proven effectiveness, the costs of this therapy are not (yet) covered by health insurance. Nevertheless, taking into account the expected medical benefits but also possible side effects, this could be the right support for some people.
