Two contemporary choreographies by Zoë Ashe-Browne & Marioenrico dʼAngelo
Zoë Ashe-Browne and Marioenrico d'Angelo will create two pieces as guest choreographers for and with BallettVorpommern that deal with communication and non-communication in our present day. The use of digital media and social media channels is almost omnipresent these days. It seems as if people around the world are communicating with each other more intensively than ever before. Yet more and more people are suffering from loneliness. What is going wrong? Is it the lack of authentic, physical contact? While a lot of fake news is published and disseminated carelessly, very little of it penetrates into "private spaces". Or does it?
Zoë Ashe-Browne is a dancer and choreographer from Dublin, Ireland. After her dance training at the English National Ballet School, she was a dancer with the National Ballet of Ireland, English National Ballet, Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, Company Eastman | Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and BallettVorpommern. In 2014, she began choreographing for theater and film. Her work incorporates classical and contemporary dance styles from her diverse performance experience.
Marioenrico dʼAngelo, born in Italy and a trained dancer, lives as a freelance choreographer and performer in Bern. He has created choreographies for many companies and theaters, including Bern Ballet, the Daegu City Dance Company South Korea, the MiR Dance Company, the Saarland State Ballet, Frontier Danceland Singapore and the Theater für Niedersachsen. In 2023, his work "Prelude" won 2nd prize at the choreography competition in Hanover. In 2024, he was selected as one of the Next Steps Artists by the Migros Culture Percentage Dance Festival Steps.
