Excursion along the Ziddorfer Mühlbach, a special habitat with many rare species. Paul Blei from the support association explains how insects and bird calls can be identified using an app and provides lots of information about the flora and fauna, approx. 6 km
The Ziddorfer Mühlenbach was restored to a near-natural state over twelve years ago by a project of the nature park's development association. What used to be a straight ditch has been transformed into a stream that is now characterized by meanders, bumps and a gentle, wooded embankment. This diverse landscape provides a habitat for numerous animal species: beavers and otters feel just as at home here as the kingfisher, which searches the clear water for small fish from a perch. Dragonflies buzz along the banks, beetles and spiders roam the grass and the first butterflies are already fluttering in the sunshine. Despite the early season, there is plenty to discover along the stream.
Biologist Paul Blei from the Friends of the Nature Park invites you on a hike along the Ziddorfer Mühlenbach stream to Lake Malchin. During the excursion, we will identify insects and bird calls together. Paul Blei will also show how apps can help identify species.
The meeting point for this three-hour excursion is on Saturday, April 18, at 3 p.m. at the Ziddorfer Mühle.
