South for Winter - Folk, Blues & Harmony from Nashville
Founded in New Zealand and now based in Nashville, the band South for Winter inspires with a mixture of dreamy acoustic duets, stomping folk and bluesy ballads. The trio's sound is as diverse as their origins.
The band consists of Nick Stone from New Zealand, Dani Cichon from Colorado and Alex Stradal from Michigan. Together, the three multi-instrumentalists and songwriters combine elements such as cello, guitar, mandolin, suitcase stomp and three-part harmonies to create a sound that transcends genres.
They recorded their new concept album Of Sea and Sky, which was released on May 16, 2024, in Nashville, TN, with multi-Grammy award-winning producer Matt Leigh. In between their releases, the band tours relentlessly, both nationally and internationally. They regularly bring their audiences to their feet and sell out concerts in Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Denmark, Poland, New Zealand and the USA.
In April 2026, they will return to DasStudioZwei in Güstrow for the third time, promising another unforgettable concert experience.
