From the event series "Nature - Environment - Garden" at IGA Park Rostock
Everything green has developed magnificently. As a result, not only garden herbs but also wild herbs now enchant the taste of our dishes. Whether tart, sweet, spicy or slightly bitter, there is something for every taste. Even in June, wild herbs can still be collected for use in the kitchen. Only the tender, fresh leaves of wild herbs should be harvested, such as sorrel, nettle, ribwort plantain, goutweed or meadow clover. These can be prepared as spinach or used to season vegetable dishes. The flowers of wild herbs, such as ground ivy or meadow margarite, also have a great aroma and are therefore very suitable for use.
In this event, various wild herbs will be presented, collection and processing tips given and the dangers of confusion pointed out. During the subsequent walk in the IGA Park, you can put your newly acquired knowledge into practice and collect the wild greenery yourself.
The event will take place in the upper seminar room of the Mecklenburger Hallenhaus and can be reached via the north entrance coming from Groß Klein. It ends at around 17:30.
