In the past, wool and flax were spun and woven, and baskets and wicker baskets were woven from willow rods—all exclusively as home-based work during the winter. You can experience this traditional craft regularly here at AGRONEUM Alt Schwerin! Basket weaving is a traditional craft that was practiced especially during the cold season, throughout the long winter months. People gathered willow rods and wove them into baskets and wicker baskets, which served as useful household items. Spinning: Especially in winter, when life on the farms became more leisurely, people would spin and weave wool and flax. The yarn produced was used to make warm and practical clothing for the whole family. Spinning: Tuesday, 1:00–3:30 p.m. and on event days
