Cinematic art meets pleasure
Food, enjoyment, and the environment are the focus of the Culinary Nature Film Series. As members of the ländlichfein initiative, the chefs at the Hotel Haferland present small, organically produced delicacies from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The nature and environmental films shown after the meal are mostly award-winning and showcase the beauty of the planet, as well as the fragility of life on Earth. Enjoy this experience for all the senses and get a taste of the 22nd Darß Nature Film Festival, which will take place from October 6 to 11, 2026.
Film “Aquarela”
“Aquarela” takes the audience on an extraordinary cinematic journey and uses poetic imagery to tell of the breathtaking power of Earth’s most precious element. From Siberia’s frozen Lake Baikal, the deepest and oldest freshwater lake on Earth, to the deadly waves of Hurricane Irma in Miami, and on to the overwhelming natural backdrop of the highest waterfall, Salto Ángel in Venezuela—water is the powerful protagonist in AQUARELA. With great sensitivity and magnificent images, AQUARELA captures moments of great beauty as well as destruction and devastation. (United Kingdom/Germany/Denmark/USA // 2018 // 90 min. // no dialogue)
