A collage-like evening with words, old and new poetry, choral quotations, jazzy and unusual sounds from organ and saxophone, all about the spiritual poet Paul Gerhardt (350th birthday)
In 2026, one of the most famous songwriters in the German-speaking world would have turned 350 years old! Paul Gerhardt - timeless poet & theologian - not only made the 17th century more bearable in the midst of war and plague with his lyrics, but also stands for an artist today who brings strong accents to society in fragile times.
In Crises.Power.Art, we want to ask less about traditions and historical contexts and more about what art and music can express in dark times: In times when supposed certainties, truths, relationships and orders become fragile:
A collage-like evening with words, old and new poetry, choral quotations, jazzy and unusual sounds from organ and saxophone.
