An Evening of Dance by Ralf Dörnen featuring music ranging from Johann Sebastian Bach to Seal
Christmas—that very special time of year when everyone suddenly wants to “slow down” … yet manages to rush around at an astonishing pace. No sooner has the first Advent wreath caught fire (hopefully only figuratively speaking) than the festive marathon begins—between the stress of gift-giving, baking cookies, and the desperate search for that one open parking spot in front of the mall.
It’s the season of love, they say. And indeed: nowhere else do we huddle so close together—whether voluntarily on the couch or involuntarily in the checkout line. Wish lists are studied like secret government documents, packages hidden like strictly confidential evidence, and somewhere someone is tinkling out “Silent Night,” while in the background the timer for the Christmas roast ticks menacingly.
This dance evening takes all of this in stride with a wink. It celebrates the little disasters and big emotions that are simply part of Christmas. With plenty of movement, energy, and humor, the ensemble whirls through crowded shopping malls, charmingly stumbles over mountains of gifts, and ultimately finds its way back to what really matters: togetherness, warmth, and a little bit of Christmas magic.
