Art fair for contemporary printmaking; photography, drawing and artists' books
From May 14 to 17, 2026, the 5th artGrafikAhrenshoop will take place between sea, sand, meadow and Bodden on the Fischland-Darß-Zingst Peninsula.
The fair for contemporary prints, photography, drawings and artists' books is once again taking place in the Strandhalle Ahrenshoop (Dorfstraße 16b, 18347 Ahrenshoop). The four-day event, organized and curated by Pirckheimer friend Henry Günther from neighbouring Ribnitz-Damgarten, opens its doors from Thursday to Saturday from 11 am to 6 pm and on Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm.
The artists' village of Ahrenshoop has long been famous and known for a number of artists associated with it; exhibitions dominate the cultural life of the Baltic resort with its long art-historical history. And the Künstlerhaus Lukas, located in the center of the town, has been promoting the creation of works of all artistic genres for many years. The MuseumsAKADEMIE of the Kunstmuseum Ahrenshoop also dedicates its program to contemporary artists, for example, on 25 June 2o26 we will be hosting a panel discussion on artists' books on the occasion of the "35 years of BuchKunstBalance".
A total of 16 exhibitors have been invited to present their work at artGrafik Ahrenshoop this year. New participants in 2o26 include the wood engraver Frank Eißner from Aschaffenburg in Main-Franconia and the drypoint virtuoso and draughtswoman Susanne Theumer from the greater Halle area, who also has a long bibliography of original graphic works.
In addition, Pirckheimer friends Klaus Raasch (who also created the poster background) and Rainer Ehrt, as well as Henry Günther himself, the two Leipzig artists Susanne Hoch and Urte von Maltzahn-Lietz (who comes from the north), Tina Flau from Berlin ... Peter Zaumseil is traveling from Elsterberg. Gudrun Illert will be back from Weimar with her calligraphic works and Reiner Stec, the publisher of the international magazine for "Graphic Art", will be coming from Memmingen. And finally, local hero Hans Götze, who lives and works in the Baltic Sea town, will be there.
