From the event series "Nature - Environment - Garden" at IGA Park Rostock

In July, we are greeted by a variety of flowers in the garden. The delicate flowers exude a wonderful fragrance. The summer weather is particularly kind to Mediterranean herbs and they therefore develop their unmistakable aroma.

One representative is basil with its various varieties. Whether Thai, cinnamon, lemon or shrub basil, there is something for every taste. There are also different varieties of sage, thyme, mint and scented nettles with different aromas. They are not only used fresh in the kitchen, but should also be preserved for the winter. Drying, freezing, herbal vinegar, herbal oil, herbal salt, pesto and oxymel are just some of the possibilities. But which option is best for which herb?

To answer these and other questions, interested parties are cordially invited to join us on Friday, 10.07.2026 at 16:00 in the Mecklenburger Hallenhaus at IGA Park. Our herb expert Annelore Sedat will once again have an incredible number of variations for processing them up her sleeve and will present them. Of course, you are also welcome to ask questions.

The event will take place in the upper seminar room of the Mecklenburger Hallenhaus and can be reached via the north entrance coming from Groß Klein. It ends at around 17:30.
