The carp ponds are located very picturesquely in the forest north of the Wockersee near Parchim. The approximately one-kilometer-long kingfisher nature trail leads around the lower pond. At 10 stations, visitors can learn about the history of the ponds and the different landscapes around them. There are several rest areas for hikers and cyclists.

The Voigtsdorfer Teiche are an idyllic place north of the Wockersee near Parchim, which can best be reached by a hike along the Wockersee and the little river Wocker. In the forest area near Voigtsdorf are the two artificially created carp ponds, which are especially popular with anglers. Around the lower carp pond, leads the approximately 1.1 kilometer long kingfisher nature trail. The eponymous kingfisher is native to the ponds and can also be observed with patience and a little luck. 9 stations of the educational trail provide information worth knowing about the numerous different habitats in the vicinity of the ponds. At the ponds there are resting places and a shelter for hikers and cyclists. The ponds are located on the Mecklenburg Lake Cycle Path.
