In the historic power station at Pfaffenteich, the theater still provides excitement with ballet, puppet theater musical theater and contemporary drama.
It used to be a state-of-the-art power supplier for the city of Schwerin, but today it's home to actors and dancers: the E-Werk on the north bank of the Pfaffenteich has been an outdoor venue for the Mecklenburg State Theater in Schwerin since 1998.
The atmosphere is almost familiar - both at the ticket counter and in the stage area, which offers space for about 100 theater fans. The artists seem close enough to touch and the productions - mostly modern - delight audiences of all generations. But the plays of the Fritz Reuter Stage in Low German dialect, which are popular beyond the state's borders, are also shown here.
The puppet theater is also at home in the E-Werk. And what could be more beautiful than the moment when countless children shout as if from one mouth: "The crocodile did it!"?
